
A 12-year-old girl was injured in a drive-by shooting on Tuesday evening in northwest Houston, police said. Officers responded to the 2000 block of Jacquelyn Drive. The girl had a gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital by the Houston Fire Department. Officials said she was conscious and able to respond to first responders, according to CW39.
The shooting happened around 4:20 p.m. at an apartment on Jacquelyn Drive, near Hammerly Boulevard and Hempstead Road, as reported by KHOU. Police said the girl was hit in the back or arm when a bullet went through the apartment wall. Her mother, who was in another room, heard her screams after the gunfire. Houston police stated that surveillance video showed the shooter firing from a gold car.
A young girl was shot in Houston and taken to the hospital, where she is expected to recover, as per KHOU. Police have not confirmed if the shooting was targeted or random and are asking anyone with information to contact them as the investigation continues.
