A 16-year-old boy has been charged as an adult in connection with a deadly shooting that took place in West Baltimore last month. The incident, which claimed the life of 26-year-old Davonne Hare, occurred on the night of August 22 in the 700 block of Druid Park Lake Drive. According to FOX Baltimore, the Baltimore Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 9:34 p.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found Hare suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Efforts were promptly made to render aid, and Hare was transported to a hospital, where he was eventually pronounced dead. After weeks of investigation, homicide detectives were able to identify the teenage suspect. WMAR-2 News reported that the juvenile was taken into custody on September 7 and has since been charged with first-degree murder.
While details about the investigation or the motive behind the shooting have not been publicly disclosed, the charging of the teenager as an adult underscores the severity with which the criminal justice system is treating this case.
