An 18-year-old man, Henry Steven Aguilar, is facing capital murder charges in connection with a fatal shooting in southwest Houston. He is also accused of evading arrest after the incident, according to KHOU.
On Sunday night, Houston police responded to a carjacking on Skyline Drive. Three suspects stole a vehicle at gunpoint—two drove off in the victim’s car, and the third, believed to be Aguilar, left in a black sedan. Shortly after, a 25-year-old man was found dead from gunshot wounds on the sidewalk near Unity Drive, as reported by FOX 26 Houston. Police said Aguilar allegedly shot the man while trying to rob him.
Aguilar was found the next day and caught after fleeing in a car and then on foot, as mentioned by KHOU. Police recovered the stolen car and Aguilar’s black sedan with help from South Gessner Patrol and Southwest Patrol Tactical Units. The other two suspects in the carjacking have not been caught. HPD asks anyone with information to call their Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
