
The Honolulu Police Department has made an arrest in connection to a shooting at Zablan Beach in Nānākuli which left a teenager in critical condition and another with injuries. An update provided on the Honolulu Police Department's official social media platforms indicates that the 19-year-old male suspect was apprehended last night, following a police investigation into the earlier incident.
The violent event, initially unfolding around 2:30 a.m. of the same day, prompted officers from District 8 to quickly to respond to reports of gunshots. Upon arrival, they discovered one victim injured on the scene, while a second made his way to the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center seeking treatment. The second victim, later identified as a 17-year-old male, remains in critical condition, according to the police Honolulu Police Department's social media post.
Amidst the ongoing investigation, authorities determined that the shots were discharged from a white four-door Toyota Camry and a gray four-door Toyota Corolla, both of which have since been recovered. The police have apprehended a 19-year-old male, who is now facing charges of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree along with firearm offenses. "Charges will be sought with the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney," the HPD update stated. The case remains open with more arrests expected to follow.
