A tragic burst of violence erupted in a Deltona condominium complex in the early hours of Monday when a 21-year-old man was shot and killed. The Volusia County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of gunfire and screams emanating from 140 Orchid Woods Court around 1 a.m., where they discovered the young man's lifeless body with multiple gunshot wounds outside a second-floor unit.

Within a quarter hour, deputies apprehended an individual matching the suspect’s description in proximity to Providence Boulevard and Perimeter Drive. Notably, the name of the victim has yet to be released by officials.
As law enforcement continued their investigation, a black backpack believed to have been discarded by the suspect was located along a bike trail by a K-9 unit. The contents of the backpack and their relevance to an investigation have not been disclosed as of yet.
WFTV reported that charges are pending against the suspect while detectives push forward, piecing together the events that led to the death and conducting interviews with potential witnesses.
