A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting on S. Kingshighway in Tower Grove South that resulted in the death of 24-year-old Darion Reed of St. Louis City, MO. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the suspect faces charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
Reed was shot on August 23 and died of his injuries on August 29. The Medical Examiner’s report classified the death as a homicide caused by a gunshot wound to the neck. The Homicide Division is asking the public for information related to the incident. Witnesses reported seeing Reed’s car stopped at S. Kingshighway shortly after leaving a nearby QT when they realized he had been shot.
District 2 officers responded to the shooting at S. Kingshighway and Connecticut on August 23. Reed was found outside his vehicle receiving care from emergency services and was taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition.
