
A tragic incident occurred in Elk Grove yesterday afternoon, where a 3-year-old girl was fatally struck by a vehicle in a driveway, as reported by the California Highway Patrol. The accident took place at approximately 3:44 p.m. on Point Pleasant Road, and authorities were alerted to the situation when dispatchers received calls about the event, according to details shared by ABC10.
The incident involved a 29-year-old woman who was reversing her Nissan out of the driveway when the vehicle collided with the young girl, who was accompanied by a 33-year-old man presumed to be standing behind the car. Family members at the scene immediately sought help from emergency services, summoning the Cosumnes Fire Department, which initiated life-saving measures before transporting the child to the hospital. Nevertheless, despite the quick response and efforts by the medical team, the girl did not survive and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
In their ongoing investigation, the South Sacramento CHP office has thus far determined that neither alcohol nor drugs were contributing factors to the heartbreaking accident, as reported by KCRA.
