In a quiet suburb of Glen Burnie, tragedy struck as a 66-year-old man was left critically injured after being hit by an SUV last night. The incident unfolded on the 300 block of Hospital Drive around 7:50 p.m. and is currently under investigation by the Anne Arundel County Police Department's Crash Reconstruction Team.
Details from Fox Baltimore indicate the man was in the roadway, but notably, not within the sanctuary of a marked crosswalk, when a 2018 Toyota RAV4, journeying eastwards, collided with him. Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene, where the Anne Arundel County Fire Department attended to the victim before shuttling him to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland. As of the last report, the man's condition remains critical.
The driver of the RAV4, a 61-year-old individual from Pasadena, did remain at the scene after the collision. This detail was confirmed by The Bay Net, where it was also mentioned that the victim received immediate care from emergency crews before his transport to the trauma center.
