
A 91-year-old woman lost her life following a traffic collision in Elk Grove this past Saturday. The Elk Grove Police Department reported that the accident occurred at around 2:50 pm on Bond Road near Salmon Creek Drive. According to the Elk Grove Police Department official Facebook post, a two-vehicle collision involved a Lincoln Town Car performing an illegal U-turn and a Toyota Rav4.
The Lincoln was heading north and tried to make an illegal U-turn in front of a fire station, cutting off an eastbound Rav4. The Rav4 crashed into the driver's side of the Lincoln. The woman driving the Lincoln was taken to a nearby hospital but later died. The Rav4 driver had non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken for medical care, as reported by the Elk Grove Police Department.
The identity of the woman who died has not been confirmed yet by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office and hasn’t been made public. The Elk Grove Police Department is still investigating the crash.
