Following a reported face stabbing in Aliquippa over the weekend, one man is now in custody facing serious charges. Witnesses, a group of teenagers, alerted an officer to the violent altercation that unfolded in Linmar Terrace last night, according to WPXI.
Authorities arrived at the scene to find significant traces of blood both in the roadway and near an apartment complex, striking visuals that underscore the gravity of the incident, while video surveillance was key in piecing together the progression of events leading up to the attack, as per WTAE. The discovered footage depicted the suspect, 68-year-old Gary Hill, instigating what police have deemed an "unprovoked" argument with the victim before it escalated into a physical confrontation and ultimately, the stabbing.
The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was subsequently rushed to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, enduring stab wounds to the face, arm, and area under the ear. Hill, who has a prior history of homicide for which he was on parole, was apprehended and faces attempted homicide and aggravated assault charges.
