An Arapahoe County Smoke Shop was the site of a high-stakes encounter last week when an armed robbery prompted a swift law enforcement response. According to a social media post by the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to the Smoke Shop N' Save located on S. Yosemite St. following a report of an armed robbery on Saturday at around 1:30 p.m.
The report came from a shaken store clerk who told deputies that a man had robbed him at gunpoint. The clerk, fearing for his life, believed that the assailant was going to possibly end his life. After the suspect fled the scene, Deputy Schambow was quick to respond, discovering the suspect loitering behind a nearby business. Matching the description provided by the victim, the individual was found in possession of a sum identical to the amount reported stolen.
After encountering resistance, Deputy Schambow arrested the suspect and transported him to the Arapahoe County Detention Facility. The suspect now faces charges of aggravated robbery. The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office commended Deputy Schambow for his prompt action in capturing the suspect. "Great job, Deputy Schambow, in getting this suspect into custody quickly," stated the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office in the same post detailing the incident.
