The Atlanta Dogwood Festival may be canceled if it does not raise $250,000 by November 1. The festival, planned for April 10-12, 2026, at Piedmont Park, is marking its 90th year, according to Atlanta News First.

FOX 5 Atlanta reported that just over $44,000 has been raised so far, about 20% of the goal. Organizers are asking the community for support after financial losses, reduced sponsorship, and rising production costs following disruptions such as World War II and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Festival executive director Brian Hill told Atlanta News First that costs have increased significantly while support and revenue have not kept pace. Organizers have launched events such as the Mimosa 5K Run, VIP ticketed activities, and gate donations, but these have not filled the gap.

Production costs have risen 25% to 30% in recent years due to higher expenses for security, equipment rental, and other services. Many companies have shifted away from sponsorship, and discussions with Mayor Andre Dickens’ office for possible city support are ongoing, though the city faces its own budget challenges.

Those interested in contributing can do so through the festival’s website.
