
On a September afternoon that turned tragic, Austin’s roads claimed another life. The Austin Police Department reported a fatal crash at the intersection of Walsh Tarlton Lane and Pinnacle Road. The incident took the life of Caitlyn Morgan Bedwell, identified as a white female born on June 24, 1992. The accident occurred on September 11, 2025, at 2:23 p.m. Following the crash, Bedwell was transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
According to officials, this accident marks the city's 72nd fatal crash this year, bringing the death toll to 76. Last year, by the same date, data revealed 63 fatal crashes causing 68 fatalities. Anyone with information about the collision is encouraged to contact the APD's Vehicular Homicide Unit or submit a tip through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program.
Police are currently piecing together the events that led up to the fatal crash. Initial assessments suggest this was a single-vehicle incident with no other cars involved.
