Authorities are at work in Lady Lake following the grim discovery of a body at a local construction site. The body, found yesterday, was reported to the Lady Lake Police Department (LLPD) at 2:12 PM by construction workers. The site, located at the intersection of CR 466 and CR 100, also known as Cherry Lake Road, became a focal point for both police and passersby.
Upon their arrival at the scene, LLPD officers confirmed the finding of a deceased individual. According to WFTV, the body was in an advanced state of decomposition and lay concealed within the tall grasses that skirt the perimeter of the construction zone. At this time, the identity of the deceased remains unknown, and the area has been secured by the LLPD.
Further details continue to be scant. The State Medical Examiner’s Office becoming involved signals the beginning of a deep dive into what led to the demise of the person discovered at the site. "The body hasn’t yet been identified," states a release obtained by ClickOrlando. Authorities have not released any more information on the incident at present.
