
A Baltimore man has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting at a local mosque yesterday. According to FOX Baltimore, police apprehended 25-year-old Shuaib Franklin at the scene on the 500 block of Islamic Way yesterday. The victim, a 49-year-old man, was found with a gunshot wound to his upper body and remains in critical condition at a hospital.
According to CBS News Baltimore, the shooting occurred outside Masjid ul Haqq, one of the oldest mosques in the Upton community. Leaders of the mosque, which has been a staple in the community for nearly 65 years, expressed their sorrow over the incident, stating it was the "first incident of its kind to occur at our doors."
