Early Saturday brought unwelcome news to a Denver shopping center on South Parker Road when a fire broke out at Gyros & Kabobs, a halal restaurant, leading to an urgent response from South Metro Fire Rescue, according to KDVR. Crews arrived around 1:18 AM, battling a blaze that not only damaged the eatery but also affected neighboring businesses, including the House of Bread and Pastries, which suffered severe smoke damage, putting thousands of dollars of merchandise in jeopardy, and the area was shut down with no water, electricity, or gas, CBS Colorado reports.
The fire, which saw additional support from the Aurora Fire Department and Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office, was contained by around 2:10 AM, though the damage to Gyros & Kababs, the origin of the fire, was extensive. The facility needs thorough investigations and thorough repairs before these local establishments can once again open their doors to the public, according to 9NEWS.
Allan Torosyan whose family owns House of Bread and Pastries and is grappling with the repercussions of the incident reflected on the ordeal, emphasizing the strong will to recover and reopen, "It’s going to take a lot of time, a lot of effort, a lot of help and money to get all of this cleaned up, get rid of the damages and hopefully open again," he shared, as obtained by KDVR; meanwhile, he assures loyal customers stating, "If you love us, if you support House of Bread and Pastries, we are closed for the time being, But don’t try to satisfy yourselves anywhere else for the mediocre stuff, Come back to us, Wait just a little bit longer, We will be opening soon."
