
In a coordinated law enforcement effort, Boston Police arrested 25-year-old Cornelius Brown-Bell from Mattapan, seizing illegal firearms and a substantial amount of narcotics during a search warrant execution yesterday. The operation, spearheaded by District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) Detectives with assistance from the E-13 Drug Control Unit and the B-3 (Mattapan) Anti-Crime Unit, descended on 567B Norfolk Street following a Dorchester District Court Search Warrant order, as reported by Boston Police Department.
Details provided by the Boston Police specify that entry was gained through an open rear door after no response was received to the officers' announcement of presence officers conducted a protective sweep which led to the discovery of Brown-Bell in the rear of the garage near a boiler room. An ensuing search unearthed a Glock 31 .357 caliber firearm with an illegal conversion switch alongside a Ruger EC9S 9mm, both firearms together with ammunition and extended magazines plus narcotics and paraphernalia indicative of distribution activities.
The seized narcotics included crack cocaine and fentanyl, with the cache totaling 840 grams of Class B substances; additionally, officers discovered multiple stolen dirt bikes and scooters, which were visible within the premises and have been referred to the Boston Police Auto Theft Task Force for further investigation. The arrestee Brown-Bell, found amidst these incriminating items, is now facing a manifold of charges which encompass offenses related to the unlawful possession and intent to distribute illegal substances as well as violations regarding firearm regulations.
Among the litany of charges, Brown-Bell is to be arraigned facing counts inclusive of "Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Machine Gun," "Possession of a Large-Capacity Firearm," "Two counts of Possession of Ammunition Without an FID Card," "Possession of a Firearm Without a License," "Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class A Substance," and "Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class B Substance."
