Bowie High School's junior standout, Keitlen Alvarez, has recently garnered attention as she's been named the City of Arlington’s Student-Athlete of the Month for September 2025. As a captain of the Lady Vols soccer team, Alvarez has not only shown her prowess on the soccer field but also made her mark in cross-country running.
When Doris Grooms, Head Girls Cross Country Coach at Bowie, first spotted Alvarez's potential, it was clear that Keitlen had a versatile talent that could transcend the turf of soccer. "I realized early on that she had talent," Grooms remarked, as per the City of Arlington, "I think she’s a student of the sport. Whatever sport it is, she wants to be the best."
The recognition is a testament to Alvarez’s dual commitment to academics and sports while maintaining excellence in both arenas. Her hard work and dedication echo throughout the halls of Bowie High School and amplify the standards set by Arlington ISD's athletic programs.
