Fans who anticipated her performance received an apology on Instagram, which stated, "I'm sorry to confirm that i won't be playing all things go in DC today," as reported by New York Daily News.
In the moments leading up to the collapse, Young was attempting to signal to someone offstage and soon after fell, leaving fans and event staff concerned for her well-being. An update by fellow performer Remi Wolf reassured the crowd that Young was "okay" backstage. The incident occurred shortly after she had to similarly bow out from another performance at the Prudential Center in Newark, as NBC New York reported. Prior to fainting, Young shared with the audience, “Sometimes life can really make you feel like you can’t continue, but you know what, today I woke up and I made the decision to come here.”
Young's challenges with mental health have been publicly acknowledged, with her openness about her condition. Her manager, Nick Shymansky, emphasized in an Instagram post the importance of implementing protective measures to ensure her safety at times. "Lola is very open about her mental health and there are very occasionally days where myself and my team have to take protective measures to keep her safe," Shymansky's statement read, as cited by NBC New York.
