Brooklyn is under heightened alert following an armed robbery that occurred on the afternoon of September 2. Authorities are currently searching for two individuals in connection with the incident, which took place in front of a construction site at 498 Columbia Street. According to a Facebook post from NYPD Crime Stoppers, the suspects approached a 29-year-old construction site employee from behind, displayed firearms, and took a metal cash box containing approximately $56,000.
The incident took place at approximately 5:28 p.m. Following the robbery, the suspects fled the scene on a moped. Their direction of travel and current whereabouts are still unknown. The NYPD is requesting the public’s help in identifying and locating the individuals involved.
