Last night, a routine evening in Brooklyn Park was disrupted when two men decided to take more than their share from a local 7-Eleven, but they didn’t get far. According to an Anne Arundel County press release, at about 9:25 p.m., two white male suspects walked into the convenience store located at 5617 Ritchie Highway, threatened an employee, and tried to make off with some merchandise. Fortunately, the crisis was brief; nobody was harmed, and no weapons were involved.
The suspects, however, couldn’t hold onto their loot for too long. They dropped the items as they fled the scene in what witnesses described as a burgundy Toyota. It didn’t take long for the Baltimore Police to catch a break; they found the supposed getaway car parked unassumingly in the 1400 block of Elmtree Street, leading to swift action by Northern District officers.
The culprits, now identified as Ronnie Lee Weatherly Jr., aged 47, and Tyler Adam Schwartzman, aged 27, both from Baltimore, didn’t manage to elude the authorities for long. The pair was apprehended and is facing charges for their ill-advised escapade.
