In what turned into a harrowing event for employees at a local auto parts store, an armed robbery took place in broad daylight. The Anne Arundel County Police Department reported that yesterday afternoon, a male suspect discharged a firearm inside Dorsch’s Auto Parts in Brooklyn Park, before making away with a scooter. The incident, which occurred in the 4400 block of Ritchie Highway, prompted an immediate response from the Northern District officers.
The official press release provided by the county's police details that the suspect, upon entering the establishment, fired a shot into the ceiling and then demanded the vehicle. After the employees capitulated, pushing the requested scooter outside, the suspect fled north along Ritchie Highway. The suspect has been described as a Black male in his 30s, adorned in a black hoodie, a black mask, and sporting ripped blue jeans with red and white tennis shoes, according to the police report. There were no reported injuries among the staff or patrons during the event.
