An unsettling situation unfolded last Saturday at a Spring Hill gas station when a Brooksville man, wielding a knife, reportedly threatened multiple individuals. According to a press release by the Hernando County Sheriff's Office, 44-year-old Eric Foreman was apprehended by law enforcement after what appears to have been a threatening episode at the Mobil gas station on 13045 Spring Hill Drive.

Initial reports suggest that Foreman crossed over to the Exxon station across the street after the first deputy arrived at the scene. He allegedly chose to aggressively approach the deputy while maintaining possession of the knife, despite commands to disarm. Law enforcement had to quickly resort to OC spray gel, which incapacitated Foreman momentarily, causing him to kneel. Nonetheless, Foreman did not relent or comply with demands to drop the weapon, according to the account of the situation provided by authorities.

A subsequent flurry of activity saw additional deputies as well as Florida Highway Patrol troopers converge on the scene. Their efforts continued to face resistance from Foreman, who, as noted in the sheriff's office statement, "stated numerous times that he would stab any deputy who approached him." A combination of less-lethal shotgun rounds and two taser deployments were necessary to finally disarm and subdue the aggressive suspect.

Following the incident, Foreman was taken to a local hospital to ensure he was medically fit for incarceration. He was later booked into the Hernando County Detention Center with charges of Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer. His bond was consequently set at $10,000.
