
On the heels of a grueling firefight, CAL FIRE's Amador-El Dorado Unit has successfully halted the spread of a vegetation blaze in El Dorado County. According to a social media post by CAL FIRE, the incident, known as the #MosswoodIncident, occurred in the vicinity of Kentucky Flat Road and Mosswood Road in Georgetown. The fire scorched an area of approximately 0.62 acres before firefighters managed to put a stop to its advance.
Personnel from multiple agencies, including Georgetown Fire, the U.S. Forest Service - Eldorado National Forest, and Garden Valley Fire Protection, converged on the scene alongside CAL FIRE AEU to combat the bristling inferno.
Collectively, they brought the situation under control, a relief to a community constantly under the threat of wildfires. The cause of the fire, however, remains shrouded in mystery and, is still under investigation. "Crews will remain on scene for mop-up," as stated by the CAL FIRE.
