Hundreds gathered on a Wednesday evening in Canutillo to celebrate a tradition that binds the community together, the Canutillo High School Homecoming Parade and Community Pep Rally, according to Canutillo ISD. The event, which saw the largest turnout ever, featured over 50 floats and marching entries showcasing student organizations, local sports teams, and community leaders.
The annual procession found its way along Talbot and Doniphan Streets, drawing cheers and excitement from the spectators; residents, new neighbors, and students alike reveled in the growing spirit of togetherness and pride. The evening festivities further unfolded at Julius & Irene Lowenberg Eagles Stadium with the inaugural Community Pep Rally, including student performances and the Homecoming Court announcement, a nod to Canutillo's increasing embrace of new traditions alongside the old.
A new addition this year was the presentation of the Outstanding Ex award, which recognizes notable alumni who have continued to contribute meaningfully to the Canutillo community. This ceremony, coupled with the buoyant expectation of a Friday night victory for the Canutillo Eagles, added layers of anticipation and community spirit to the event.
