Downtown Carrollton is gearing up for a cultural explosion this Saturday with the Carrollton Culture Fest, an event that promises to tantalize taste buds and showcase global traditions. In what was once the World of Foodies gathering, this family-friendly festival, hosted at 1106 S. Broadway Street from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., has expanded beyond the culinary scene to include a wide array of international experiences that cater to all senses. According to the City of Carrollton's announcement, attendees can look forward to free admission, though it's wise to bring some cash for the various craft and food vendors selling their specialized wares.
The new Bevvy Blvd has got you covered, thanks to a partnership with 3 Nations Brewing Co. In a unique twist not seen before at this event, drink choices from a French 75 to a Mexican-Style Lager are set to quench any thirst. The culinary journey continues with a lineup of international eateries that includes tantalizing dishes from the likes of Curry Pizza House, Love Song Kitchen, and The Bop Bop. Culture Fest is not just about satisfying your stomach's wanderlust; it's a smorgasbord designed to feed the soul with sights, sounds, and flavors.
The level of craftsmanship on display will rival the food offerings' diversity, featuring an eclectic mix of vendors such as A Touch of Mexico, Goodie Skins, and The Stitching Abbey. Families can dive into creativity with a stop by the Korean American Youth Artists of Texas for children's crafts, or try their hands at traditional calligraphy at Kouka Calligraphy Studio's booth – all free of charge.
After filling up on Korean BBQ or Pakistani Tex-Mex, festival-goers can shake it off with various cultural stage performances. With the low hum of anticipation set by SDK Bhangra's beats at 5 p.m., there's something for everyone – from the traditional Drums of Tahiti to the vibrant UDA Samba. Following the shows, performers will mingle with the crowd, teaching dance moves and posing for photos, turning the ties between performer and patron into a thrilling participatory event. Lastly, memories will be immortalized at the professional photobooth on the Square, courtesy of the Dallas Yarn Bombers’ artistry – because no fest is complete without a few snapshots to seal the deal.
