Experience a tapestry of global flavors and cultural entertainment in Historic Downtown Carrollton on Saturday, September 27, from 3-9 p.m. at the Carrollton Culture Fest. The event, free and open to the public, promises an expanded showcase of culinary and artistic diversity, evolving from the former World of Foodies into a larger celebration of traditions from around the globe. Vendors will be selling their specialty crafts and dishes at various prices, so attendees are encouraged to bring spending money, according to an official announcement from the City of Carrollton.
The culinary adventure will feature food and drink vendors offering a multitude of international cuisines, including Asian, French, German, Indian, Italian, Japanese, Mexican, and Pakistani fare. "Prepare for a scrumptious adventure where diverse cuisines from around the world will satisfy any taste bud," the City of Carrollton described. New to this year's event is Bevvy Blvd, an international drink garden coordinated by Downtown Carrollton’s 3 Nations Brewing Co., which includes selections like French 75, frozen margarita, Italian pilsner, Italian red wine, and the brewery company’s TEXIAN Mexican-Style Lager.
A robust lineup of cultural performances will energize the festival throughout the evening. The schedule begins with the Drums of Tahiti - Polynesian Revue at 3:30 p.m., followed by SDK Bhangra, Rising Phoenix Lion Dragons, and UDA Samba. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the performers post-show for photos and dance lessons, making it a fully interactive experience.
The festival's marketplace will host a variety of artisan vendors selling globally inspired goods. For family-friendly activities, the Korean American Youth Artists of Texas (KAYAT) offers hands-on children’s crafts, and there's an opportunity to learn the art of calligraphy with Kouka Calligraphy Studio, both suitable for all ages. "Families can stop by the Korean American Youth Artists of Texas (KAYAT) booth for a hands-on children’s craft, and guests of all ages are invited to create a keepsake with Kouka Calligraphy Studio, who will be offering free calligraphy crafts," the City of Carrollton highlighted. A sensory-friendly break area will also be provided, offering a quiet space for those overwhelmed by the sensory stimuli of the event.
