Charlotte County’s Community Development Department has issued a warning about scam emails posing as official communications. These emails attempt to collect sensitive personal and financial information by appearing to come from legitimate county services.
As per the Charlotte County website, officials stated that the department will never request confidential information or money via email. All legitimate messages will come from an @CharlotteCountyFL.gov email address.
Residents who receive suspicious emails should avoid clicking on links or downloading attachments. To verify authenticity, contact the Community Development Department at 941-743-1201 or email [email protected]. The department urges anyone receiving suspicious emails to report them immediately.
