Dilworth Neighborhood Grilled in Charlotte gained attention after the Carolina Panthers’ 42-13 loss to the New England Patriots. The restaurant changed its sign to read “At least our punter can tackle,” referencing Sam Martin’s play during the game, WBTV reported.
According to WCNC, Panthers head coach Dave Canales said after the loss, “I have to put that on myself,” noting the need to improve team execution. The Patriots capitalized on punt return opportunities, including an 87-yard touchdown. Rookie kicker Ryan Fitzgerald missed key kicks, and conservative decisions contributed to missed opportunities.
Quarterback Bryce Young completed 18 of 30 passes for 150 yards and a touchdown, but the team struggled on third downs and in critical moments. Young said that the team must execute and take ownership for performance.
The Charlotte Observer reported that the Panthers’ 1-3 start highlights deeper issues for the team despite an earlier win over Atlanta.
