
Early this morning, the Charlotte Fire Department responded to a hazmat leak on the 2700 block of East Independence Boulevard near the BOplex. Crews arrived around 3 a.m. to manage the situation, according to Queen City News. The department has not disclosed the cause of the leak, but traffic in the area has not been affected.
The incident occurred near the Bojangles Coliseum. The Charlotte Fire Department post on X stated that company service technicians were evaluating the scene. The type of substance involved has not been made public.

No injuries have been reported. Medic confirmed its paramedics were on standby to assist Charlotte Fire crews if needed.
