
Last Friday evening, Deputy Chief Bryley, city staff, and Charlotte Center City Partners participated in a “Walk the Block” initiative in Charlotte. According to CMPD News post on X, the group walked from Uptown to South End during peak nightlife hours, checking lighting, surveying patrol areas, and speaking with community members.

The initiative aimed to highlight the work of CMPD officers and engage directly with residents and business owners. During the walk, the group reviewed physical safety measures such as lighting and discussed concerns raised by community members.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department indicated that feedback from residents and businesses will be an important part of how future actions are shaped.
