The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has identified the victim in a recent homicide as 20-year-old Jahday Humphrey. Police have arrested 33-year-old Jarius Tamaal Jackson and charged him with Humphrey’s murder in connection with the 100 block of Brevard Court incident yesterday afternoon, according to a press release from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Homicide detectives took Jackson into custody, and he is being held by the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. Humphrey’s family has been notified. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is asking anyone with information about the case to contact the department or provide an anonymous tip through Charlotte Crime Stoppers.
The investigation remains active. Detective Condron is leading the case, and the incident has been recorded under report number 20250918-1333-12.
