
On Labor Day, the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office-NC shared a message on Facebook about the holiday’s origins and significance. Labor Day was established in the late 19th century to honor American workers and has been recognized as a federal holiday since 1894.
The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office-NC also acknowledged those who continue to work on holidays, including deputies, detention officers, fire personnel, EMS, and telecommunicators.
In addition, the office extended thanks to partner agencies such as FirstHealth of the Carolinas, Pittsboro Police Department, Siler City Police Department, North Carolina State Highway Patrol, and North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.
