Clark County's Office of Sustainability is stepping up its efforts for National Drive Electric Month with events that offer local residents the opportunity to engage with electric vehicles and sustainable transportation methods firsthand. As reported by Clark County, activities include electric vehicle ride-and-drive events, free webinars, and family-friendly occasions like a bicycle ride and a drive-in movie night. The series of local events, running from tomorrow through Oct. 12, aim to educate and involve the community in a conversion toward cleaner transportation alternatives.
One key event is the Clean Cities Coalition webinar on September 16, which is designed to offer participants practical information on sustainability. Clark County’s Climate and Sustainability Program Manager, Robert Burgy, stated that this year’s focus extends beyond electric vehicles to include other forms of electrification, such as e-bikes, home appliances, and landscaping equipment. He also noted that the event will include elements intended to engage attendees of all ages.
The drive-in movie night on September 20 will feature the animated film "Migration." The event will include electric vehicle owners available to share their experiences with interested attendees, including parents and children. Additionally, the EV 101 webinar on September 23 is intended to provide information for those considering electric vehicles or seeking to learn more about them, according to Clark County.
The Plugged in: EV Ride and Drive event on Sept. 27 invites the public to test drive various electric models from participating dealers like Centennial Subaru, Towbin Alfa Romeo, and Gaudin Porsche. This event will be followed by the GLOW Ride on Oct. 4, organized by All-In Clark County in partnership with the RTC of Southern Nevada.
