Clark County has extended the deadline for applications to fill a nursing position on the Public Health Advisory Council. The Board of Health is encouraging local nurses with an interest in community health to apply for the volunteer role, which will contribute to shaping county health policies. The appointed member will serve until the term concludes on September 30, 2028, as per the county's official announcement.
Council members meet virtually from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month, except in December, and are also expected to attend quarterly in-person meetings at various locations throughout the county. Subcommittee participation may be available as well.
Beyond the meeting schedule, the county highlights the council’s role in shaping public health priorities. The group focuses on issues such as disease prevention, health equity, and environmental safety—assessing community health needs, providing recommendations to the Board of Health, and organizing task forces to address specific challenges, according to the county’s call for applicants.
For those interested in serving, applicants can submit a letter of interest and resume to the County Manager's Office, attention Jake Goodwin, or by email at [email protected]. Questions regarding council participation may be directed to [email protected].
