If you or someone you know is an older adult navigating the maze of resources and services available in Seattle, there's an upcoming event that's not to be missed. According to a recent announcement on Seattle Parkways, the 2nd Annual Seattle Senior Resource Fair is set to take place this Tuesday, September 30, from 11 AM to 2 PM. The gathering is promising to be a cornucopia of information, with over 90 local nonprofits, businesses, and government agencies ready to offer insights and assistance.
Held at Magnuson Park Hangar 30, this event is designed as a "one-stop shop" to connect seniors with vital services ranging from healthcare and housing to social activities, and financial planning. What's more, this year's fair will feature breakout sessions on current topics such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Fraud Prevention – a testament to the evolving challenges and opportunities the aging population faces.
There's no cost to attend the fair, and attendees will also get the chance to participate in prize drawings. Access is made as convenient as possible with plenty of parking available, including ADA parking spots, to accommodate every guest. For those with questions prior to the event, Lifelong Recreation can be contacted at 206-696-8252.
Seattle Parks and Recreation's Lifelong Recreation program is hosting the fair in partnership with NEST (North East Seattle Together) and Aegis Living, ensuring a well-rounded representation of resources. As stated in the Seattle Parkways announcement, "Come and explore the wealth of resources available to help you thrive." And for those interested in the nitty-gritty details of the fair, all the information you need is conveniently listed on their event announcement page.
