In a recent social media post, the Washington County Sheriff's Office in Wisconsin informed the public about the impending release of a convicted sex offender, as per their obligation under state law. Washington County Sheriff’s Office stated, "Wyland L. Lubbert will be released from prison on Sept. 16th, 2025. After his release he will reside at 1725 Cth NN in the Township of Jackson."
In 2010, convicted on 31 counts of Possession of Child Pornography, Wyland L. Lubbert is set to re-enter society, closely monitored by the WI-DOC Division of Community Corrections. Having numerous rules and restrictions to follow, he will be equipped with a live tracking GPS unit. Ready for integrating him back into the community, the Sheriff's Office believes that an "informed public is a safer public." Monitoring Wyland L. Lubbert closely, he will be on probation until Sept. 22nd, 2047.
Informing the public of such releases is a direct result of the Sex Offender Registration and Community Notification Law. As the Sheriff's Office puts it, "Sex offenders have always lived in our communities; but it was not until the Sex Offender Registration and Community Notification Law was enacted that law enforcement was able to share this information with the community."
