Residents of Coppell and patrons of the Coppell Justice Center can breathe a sigh of relief, as the recent gas leak threat has been contained and addressed. The Coppell Police Department announced on its Facebook page that the previously reported gas leak at the Justice Center is now fixed. As a result, the Records Office and Municipal Court, which had been closed due to the incident, are scheduled to resume regular business the following day.
Last Thursday, the Coppell Police Department's social media update notified the community that the gas leak was successfully contained, and there was no immediate threat to the public. However, to allow for repairs and to ensure the safety of employees and the public, specific offices had to swiftly close. "The gas leak has been fixed," the department announced, while clarifying that the closure of the Records Office and Municipal Court would extend "through the rest of the day."
Located within the Coppell Justice Center, the concerns initially arose when the gas leak was discovered on the property. The statement obtained by the Coppell Police Department assured that the leak was strictly confined to the Justice Center. This information was crucial in preventing widespread panic, given the potential hazards associated with such leaks.
