Tragedy struck Cordes Lakes over the weekend when a house fire claimed the life of a 37-year-old man. The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office reported that they responded to the emergency shortly before 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 6. Deputies were swiftly met by a woman reporting that her step-son was still inside the burning home.
Despite the efforts to safely fully evacuate the residence, the man was tragically unable to escape the inferno.
