Travelers on Interstate 295 faced delays during this morning’s commute due to construction and a vehicular accident. According to News4Jax, the northbound lanes at Blanding Boulevard were blocked following a crash with reported injuries. All lanes reopened after 8 a.m. today.
Before the clearance, morning traffic was heavily restricted. Action News Jax reported that a truck at the road’s edge and an overturned vehicle had reduced northbound traffic on I-295 to one lane before 7 a.m., creating significant delays worsened by ongoing construction.
First Coast News reported that westbound commuters were also affected by a crash on I-295 West at Blanding Boulevard. The two right westbound lanes were closed due to the incident. The Florida Department of Transportation advised drivers to use caution or seek alternate routes. According to FDOT traffic cameras, the lanes have since reopened.
