CAVA, a fast-casual Mediterranean chain, will open at 636 Woodward Ave. in downtown Detroit on September 26, next to Shake Shack. This will be the company’s second Michigan location, following its first opening in Canton Township earlier this summer, according to The Detroit News

The 3,000-square-foot Detroit location will include a dining area, digital ordering, and carryout services. The menu offers nearly 40 ingredients for grain bowls, salads, and pita sandwiches. "We were delighted by the way the Canton community embraced our first Michigan restaurant this summer," said Jeff Gaul, Chief Development Officer of Cava, in a statement to Metro Times. "As we grow across the Midwest, we’re excited to welcome Detroit to our table to experience the bold flavors of our high-quality meals and Mediterranean hospitality while living out our mission to bring heart, health, and humanity to food."

CAVA will open a new location in downtown Detroit, creating 25-40 jobs and operating daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. The restaurant offers a customizable menu with more than 17 billion combinations, including vegetarian and vegan options. Bedrock’s Senior Vice President of Leasing Naumann Idrees said, "The addition of CAVA to downtown Detroit will bring a fresh, modern concept to the city," and, "Their commitment to bold, healthy food and vibrant community experiences aligns perfectly with the energy that defines Detroit. We’re delighted to introduce high-quality brands like CAVA to the heart of the city," as mentioned by WXYZ. The company’s previous opening in Canton drew large crowds.
