A late-night chase involving a DUI suspect and Puyallup law enforcement has led to an incident. According to FOX13 Seattle, a convicted felon, now facing multiple charges, ignited a series of events that culminated in a head-on collision with a police cruiser. The Puyallup Police Department reported that after initially losing sight of the driver, the suspect intentionally struck another patrol car, sparking a fire.
Despite the violent confrontation on the streets, no officers or K9 units sustained severe injuries. The situation unfolded near the intersection of River Road and North Meridian, a heavy traffic area due to the influx of visitors for the Washington State Fair, as pointed out by an individual named Ryan in an interview with KING5. "That’s an Explorer. Ford Explorer? Oh yeah," Ryan recognized the model involved.
Subsequent to the collision, drugs, guns, and ammunition were reportedly visible inside the suspect's vehicle. Both the vehicle and the evidence it contained were seized, and the suspect was booked into the Pierce County Jail. The reinforced structure of the Ford Police Interceptor appears to have contributed to protecting those involved from a potentially more severe outcome. As Ryan told KING5, "There’s a reason why they use them."
