Early on Sunday in East Harris County, a single-vehicle crash killed a local driver. FOX 26 Houston reported that the crash happened around 2:30 a.m. on the 12400 block of Crosby Lynchburg Road, near FM 1942. A 2012 Dodge Challenger 392 was reportedly traveling "at an unsafe speed" before it lost control, went off the road, and hit a utility pole.
Driver Oscar Pedraza Lopez died at the scene after his vehicle was heavily damaged in a crash. Authorities have not released more details about the incident. CenterPoint Energy checked the area for damage, but it is unclear if the crash caused a power outage, according to Click2Houston.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash. No witnesses have come forward, and officials are working to determine the cause of the accident.
