A tragic incident occurred on Old Redwood Highway south of Shiloh Road, where a vehicle and a bicyclist were involved in a fatal crash. The accident happened at around 1:11 PM yesterday, leading to the death of an elderly bicyclist who was hit by a Range Rover, as per reports issued by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Santa Rosa.
The initial findings of the CHP suggest that the bicyclist had been stopped on the northbound right-hand shoulder when the Range Rover veered off the road, colliding with him. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, the injured man, later pronounced dead at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, could not be saved. The driver of the involved Range Rover stayed on the scene and cooperated with the investigation; impairment has been ruled out, according to the CHP's statement.
