As the autumn air cools in Euless, the City's Parks and Community Services has a lineup of family-friendly events to get locals outside and enjoying the season. On the agenda is a fishing event for young anglers, a movie night in the park, and a unique pumpkin patch experience for kids.
First up for families is the "Jr. Anglers" event, set to take place on Saturday, October 4, from 9 a.m. to noon at Wilshire Park, located at 315 Sierra Drive. It's an open invitation for kids to grab a fishing pole and chase the thrill of landing their first fish or showcase their growing skills. While equipment is available for those without, attendees can also bring their own. According to the City of Euless' website, "prizes available for various competitions through age groups." Visitors can expect a morning filled with outdoor fun and memorable catches.
The following week, Glade Parks becomes an outdoor cinema with "Movie in the Park," scheduled for Saturday, October 11 at sundown. Situated between Thirsty Lion and The Reserve, families and friends are encouraged to gather with blankets and lawn chairs for a screening of "Scooby-Doo: The Movie." The City of Euless shares, "Join the whole crew as they meddle their way through spooky laughs and ghostly gags on the big screen." Scooby-Doo fans can indulge in a night of mystery and animation under the stars.
Rounding out the family fun in October, Euless Family Life Center Natatorium hosts "Pumpkin Splash." This event offers a twist on the traditional pumpkin patch as kids can swim in the indoor pool to pick out their floating pumpkin. Set for Friday, October 17, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at 300 W Midway Drive, children are invited to dive into the festive spirit, picking the pumpkin that calls to them amidst the gentle waves.
