Last Saturday, a violent incident at a cocktail bar on West Texas Street resulted in a stabbing and the eventual arrest of a 40-year-old man. At approximately 12:40 AM, Fairfield Police responded to a call regarding a man who had been injured with a knife. The suspect had fled, and the victim was quickly taken to a local hospital for treatment, where he was later stabilized, as detailed in a social media post by the Fairfield Police Department.
Investigators at the scene worked to establish a perimeter, secure surveillance footage, and collect witness statements in their efforts to apprehend the assailant. During the methodical scouring of the area, they discovered that the suspect had left behind a significant piece of evidence: his vehicle, registered in his name, abandoned in the bar's parking lot.
Authorities ultimately identified Robert Flett as the man responsible for the stabbing. Employing a wait-and-see tactic, officers kept a watchful eye on the parked vehicle, anticipating that Flett would retrieve it. Their patience paid off when Flett appeared to claim his car, leading to his arrest. Flett now faces charges for attempted murder and is currently being held at the County Jail.
