A routine afternoon in Fairfield took an unexpected turn on Tuesday when police pursued a vehicle near the local mall, ultimately arresting the driver on suspicion of DUI and evading.
According to the Fairfield Police Department, Officer Amavisca attempted to stop the vehicle after spotting it. The driver, later identified as Angel Sanchez, failed to yield, prompting a pursuit that meandered through city streets at low speeds.
The chase ended at Webster and Kentucky streets, where officers conducted what they described as a “high-risk stop.” Sanchez was taken into custody without further incident and booked into Solano County Jail on multiple charges, including driving under the influence and evading police.
Police emphasized the broader dangers of impaired driving in a social media statement, noting that while this incident ended without injury, the risks posed to the community remain significant.
