Last Saturday, Fairfield Police officers were called to an East Tabor Avenue apartment complex after receiving reports of a man with a firearm intimidating occupants during a heated argument.
Upon arrival, the suspect, 28-year-old Cristian Rodriguez, attempted to escape by darting towards another building. As officers pursued, they formed a dynamic response to safely apprehend the man without additional harm coming to those involved or bystanders in the vicinity.
Rodriguez was confronted in the presence of a woman with a baby carriage, according to the Fairfield CA Police Department social media post. The officers demanded his surrender, and Rodriguez complied.
Later, a discovery was made: an unloaded firearm carelessly placed on the baby carriage. Rodriguez was detained, and both the woman and the baby escaped the incident unscathed.
