State parks and historic sites in the St. Louis area are offering free educational events this September for all ages. The Mastodon State Historic Site will host Toddler Thursdays on Sept. 25 and Oct. 9 at 10 a.m., featuring storytime and crafts. Topics include Bird Songs and Autumn Leaves. No registration is required. The event takes place at the museum auditorium, 1050 Charles J. Becker Drive, Imperial, as per the Missouri Department of Natural Resources website.

Washington State Park will hold Outdoor Classroom: Petroglyph Research on Sept. 26 at 2 p.m. at the park’s amphitheater, 3041 State Highway 104, De Soto. The presentation covers connections between the petroglyphs and other Native American sites.

The Mastodon State Historic Site will also present Living With Water: An Introduction to Your Rock Creek Watershed on Sept. 30 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the picnic shelter, 1800 Seckman Road, Imperial. Visitors can meet with representatives from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Activities for children and refreshments will be available.
