Christopher Heron has been sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 18 years for the second-degree murder of 66-year-old Joseph Housley Sr., closing a grim chapter yesterday in Fall River Superior Court. His co-defendant, Joseph Housley Jr., the victim's son, still awaits trial, which is expected to commence this month, according to the Fall River Reporter.
The conviction stems from a tragic incident that took place on July 6, 2021, when Seekonk Police responded to 911 calls regarding possible gun shots at the Forsythe Circle residence, where they found the elder Housley with a fatal gunshot wound according to details from both the Turn to 10 report and corroborated by court records.
Heron, along with Housley Jr., were charged after an extensive investigation into the homicide that remained unsolved for some time, this indictment came a little over a year after the crime was committed, in September of 2022; both men are from Rehoboth and faced charges from a Bristol County Grand Jury, detailing the unfolding of that fateful night.
